HTV Audio Visual & Security Services

Last updated: 9 June 2025

1. Who We Are

HTV Audio Visual & Security Services (“HTV”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in a secure and transparent way. We provide professional installation and support services for digital TV, audio-visual systems, CCTV, and other security-related technology across the UK. For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), HTV is considered the “data controller” of the personal data you supply to us.

2. What Information We Collect

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us, such as when you complete a contact or booking form, make a service enquiry, or communicate with us by phone, email, or social media. This may include your full name, address, email address, phone number, payment details, and relevant installation or property access notes. In addition, we may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and device details through cookies and website analytics tools.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to deliver our services efficiently, including managing appointments, handling payments, and sending service confirmations or reminders. Your data also allows us to respond to customer enquiries, collect feedback, and improve our services. We may send follow-up messages or review requests if you consent. We will not send you marketing messages unless you have opted in to receive them.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data under several lawful bases as required by the UK GDPR. This includes processing your data to fulfil a contract with you (such as delivering our services), to comply with legal obligations (such as tax records), and where it is in our legitimate interest to do so (such as improving our customer support). Where we rely on consent—such as for marketing—you may withdraw that consent at any time.

5. How We Store and Share Data

Your personal data is stored securely within encrypted systems and tools that comply with UK GDPR standards. We use trusted third-party services for business operations, including CRM platforms and payment processors. We never sell your data. We only share it with third parties when required for service delivery, legal compliance, or with your express permission.

6. How Long We Keep Your Information

We retain your personal data only for as long as it is necessary to deliver the services you’ve requested or to comply with legal obligations. Generally, this means we may retain service and financial records for up to six years in accordance with UK law. Once your data is no longer needed, it will be securely deleted or anonymised.

7. Your Rights

Under the UK GDPR, you have a number of rights regarding your personal data. These include the right to access your data, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your data (also known as the right to be forgotten), and object to or restrict how your data is processed. You can also withdraw any consent you’ve given and lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you feel your data has been mishandled.

8. Cookies & Tracking

Our website may use cookies to enhance user experience and track visitor interactions for analytical purposes. You are able to manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings. By using our website, you agree to our use of cookies unless you choose to disable them.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, legal obligations, or internal procedures.
